CISAAC 2025, the inaugural annual conference of the Cayman Islands Society of Anaesthesiologists, was successfully held on May 31st in Grand Cayman. The event brought together a distinguished group of anaesthesiologists, intensivists, and healthcare professionals to engage in a comprehensive exploration of advancements in anaesthesia, patient safety, and perioperative care within a dynamic and collaborative academic environment.
Centered around the theme “Balancing Act: Harmonizing Patient Care, Physician Well-being and Anaesthesia Excellence to Achieve Optimal Outcomes,” the conference emphasized the importance of maintaining equilibrium between clinical performance and physician wellness. The sessions highlighted how modern anaesthesia practice must evolve to support both optimal patient outcomes and sustainable professional practices in an increasingly demanding healthcare landscape.
The scientific program featured a diverse range of keynote lectures, expert-led panel discussions, and interactive sessions that addressed both foundational principles and emerging innovations in anaesthesia. Attendees had the opportunity to deepen their clinical knowledge, exchange ideas with leading experts, and gain practical insights into improving patient care through evidence-based approaches and evolving technologies.
In addition to its strong academic focus, CISAAC 2025 provided an excellent platform for professional networking and collaboration. Participants were able to connect with peers across specialties, share experiences, and build meaningful relationships that contribute to continued growth and knowledge exchange within the anaesthesia community.
Set against the tranquil and inspiring backdrop of the Cayman Islands, the conference successfully combined high-quality scientific discourse with a welcoming and engaging atmosphere. With Continuing Medical Education (CME) opportunities and a forward-looking approach, CISAAC 2025 marked a significant milestone in advancing anaesthesia education and fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration in the region.
